My Leather Boot Addiction

With the weather cooling significantly this past week, I have been indulging myself in wearing every pair of boots I own [or the pairs I brought to school, at least], and it has been wonderful.  Over the summer I had forgotten how much I love wearing boots, but now that it's fall and appropriate weather, I'm totally obsessed with every pair I own, again.  Leather boots are my favorite go-to pair of shoes because they add edge and style to any outfit.  Plus, there are many different types of boots--riding boots, thigh-high boots, ankle boots, lace-up boots [my personal fav], chelsea boots, and even wedge boots--and colors/materials to choose from.  Here are some of my favorite leather boot trends for this fall, plus a peek at my own collection that I'm head-over-[boot]heels for!

Fall 2012 Styles:

The Knee-High Boot
Steve Madden // LEWISVIL // $229.95

This style of boot is very versatile.  You can wear them casually with a pair of distressed jeans and a loose-fitting sweater, or you could dress them up by pairing them with black or solid-colored pants, a silk top, and a blazer.  Either way, with this specific boot above, keep in mind how you accessorize.  The boots have enough detail and decoration to be the statement of your outfit.  Save your bold and bling-y jewelry for another day.

The Riding Boot
Left: Banana Republic // Willow Riding Boot // $198.00
Right: Vince Camuto // Flavian Combo // $210.00 [Image Courtesy of Polyvore]

Riding boots make any outfit look classic and chic.  The smoothness of the leather and form-fitting cut of the boot provide a seamless look while adding a different texture to your outfit.  I like these Vince Camuto riding boots because they have both black and brown leather, so you can wear them with anything.

The Lace-Up Boot
Left: Aldo // AMERSFOORT // $150.00
Right: Dr. Martens // Floral 1460 Lace-Up Boot // $130.00

Lace-up boots are a more casual option meant for everyday styling.  Since I'm a college student and am walking around Boston all day, these boots are the perfect style for me.  In fact, I wear them almost everyday!  Lace-up boots allow for comfort, yet they still look adorable, especially when paired with skirts and dresses.

The Chelsea Boot
Left: Ecote // Studded Chelsea Boot // $69.00
Right: Ecote // Metal Chelsea Boot // $69.00

Chelsea boots are sleek and will make any outfit look cool.  Usually they are flat and are best worn with skinny jeans and a leather jacket.  I mean the leather jacket is optional, but isn't that just what you think of when you see these shoes?!  Anyway, try out the Chelsea boot style.  I think they may be the next addition to my boot collection.

The Wedge Boot
Left: Urban Outfitters // Eliotte Pony Ankle Boot // $149.00
Right: Steve Madden // RAIDERR // $139.95

Wedge boots are cute and add a lift to your step, literally.  Wedge boots can vary from being more dressy or casual.  The wonderful thing about these boots is that you can easily wear them from day to night, and they are a comfortable option.  Plus, heeled shoes alway make your legs look good--sounds like a good choice to me!

Now for my own collection:
Steve Madden TROOPA Lace-Up Boots
I wear these pretty much every day, so comfortable!
Lucky Brand Knee High Boots
I tend to wear these when it gets colder; they look cute with skinny jeans and sweaters.
Steve Madden HAMPTINN Ankle Boots
These are one of my favorite pairs because I can dress them up or down.
I also love the four buckle detail on the back.

Leather boots are the shoe trend for fall.  They are comfortable, versatile, and they look good on everyone.  These styles of boots can be paired with skinny jeans, bright colored pants, shorts (for the early fall), skirts, and dresses.  If you don't have a pair of leather boots, I highly suggest you invest because you will get good use out of them and you'll feel good while wearing them.  I know I'll be sporting mine now throughout the fall and into the winter, and I sure will enjoy it.  Happy boot season everyone!
