Family of the Year Show [Great Scott - Allston, MA]

Tuesday night my boyfriend Drew and I went to see our first concert of the school year in Boston!  We saw Family of the Year at Great Scott in Allston, MA. The performance was fun and entertaining, and Family of the Year sounded lovely as usual.  Here are some pictures from the show:

The venue's atmosphere is very laid back and intimate.  Great Scott is a one room bar with a small stage.  In fact, Drew told me that the bar used to be a hot spot for BC frat guys, but it's certainly made a turn around since the club changed hands.  Great Scott now has the atmosphere of an underground indie rock club hosting talented bands, famous or on the rise, and producing great shows at a reasonable price (the Family of the Year show was only $10).  The crowd was pretty small compared to other concerts I've been to at House of Blues Boston and the Paradise Rock Club, but I liked it because we were able to talk more personally with the bands performing.

Overall, I enjoyed singing and dancing along to Family of the Year and listening to a couple bands I had never heard of before--New Cassettes and White Arrows.  It was a nice change from the usual Tuesday festivities of classes and studying.  I hope to hear Family of the Year live again soon!  And, now that I have one show under my belt this school year, I'm excited for more to come.
