Happy Thanksgiving.

Image From: Sweet Clip Art

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! I hope everyone eats lots of turkey, stuffing, and mashed potatoes [my favorite]. But more importantly, be thankful. I am very thankful for my family and friends who support me everyday and are always able to make me laugh during stressful times. What are you thankful for?

Thanksgiving Threads

Whether Thanksgiving is a giant party or a small family get-together, it is something to celebrate. I mean, the mass amounts of delicious food is enough to make you jump for joy, so dress up for the holiday! Here are three outfit options for Thanksgiving that are sure to impress those family members you haven't seen in months and to hide that food baby [you know it's a given:)].

1. Casual Party Dress

Thanksgiving Outfit 1

Madewell Silk Checker Dress // Ecote Country Boot // Bauble Bar Onyx Bloom Studs

There's nothing easier than throwing on a simple dress and still looking put together. The structure of this dress emphasizes the waistline well (belt is optional), and the plaid pattern keeps it interesting. I especially love the collar on this Madewell dress because it adds some quirkiness to the outfit. Pair a basic dress with tights and lace-up ankle boots to add some edge, while keeping comfort in mind. Then add some sparkle with rhinestone earrings like the Bauble Bar earrings above.

2. Shift Skirt & A Cozy Sweater

Thanksgiving Outfit 2

With all that turkey, a food baby is inevitable. But luckily it's easy to hide with this Madewell sweater paired with a striped sequin shift skirt.  I love this outfit because it has the perfect balance of casual comfort and sparkly glam. Pair the skirt with heeled ankle boots and a statement necklace to dress it up. Also, nix the scarf in the image above, unless you plan on going outside.

3. Fur Vest & Leather

                         Thanksgiving Outfit 3

Urban Outfitters Silence & Noise Sheer Shirt // Urban Outfitters BDG Cuffed Faux Leather Legging // Madewell Faux Fur Vest // Me Too Kim Flats // Bauble Bar Hematite Curb Collar

This outfit is comfortable, cozy, and chic. I love mixing leather and fur together for a totally sassy outfit. The loose-fitting button-up underneath the vest will hide your full tummy, while the stretchy leather leggings allow for stomach expansion--and you'll look adorable all at the same time! Pair with metal capped-toe flats [these Me Too ones are super comfy!] and a statement chain necklace.

No matter which type of outfit you choose, you'll definitely look stylish, yet feel comfortable. Plus, these outfits easily hide a turkey-filled stomach. I hope everyone has a lovely and yummy Thanksgiving! Dress your best and be thankful!

Mario Testino: In Your Face

Last weekend I was fortunate enough to see fashion photographer Mario Testino's exhibit, In Your Face, at the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston. This was Testino's first exhibition in the U.S., as he is originally from Peru and lives in London. Testino's work has been featured in fashion magazines such as Vogue and Vanity Fair. He has also photographed many celebrities and models such as, Kate Moss, Gisele BΓΌndchen, Brad Pitt, Tom Brady, Gwyneth Paltrow, Lady Gaga, Jennifer Aniston, Reese Witherspoon, Kristin Stewart, just to name a few.

The photos in the exhibit are absolutely stunning. Aside from the amazing quality, the way the photos are presented make them very striking. The gallery room is dimly lit with teal-colored walls. Each photo has a light behind it so that when you walk in it's like a million beautiful, glowing people staring at you. They are certainly in your face. The light from behind the photos makes the colors vibrant so that each image stands out.

Here are a few of my favorite images from the exhibit:

Testino also had some of his Royal Family portraits on another floor of the museum. Including one of Princess Diana from which he became famous. They were absolutely beautiful!

There were so many of Testino's photos that I loved, but obviously I can't put them all up! The experience was amazing, and I highly suggest checking out the exhibit if you get the chance! It's Definitely worth it.

Tuesday Pick-Me-Up

The past week (well, month for that matter) has been tough and very busy with lots of assignments,  exams, and school activities, which is why I haven't been able to write a blog post in a apologies! Since I, and many of my college friends, are just hitting the end of midterms and assignments and struggling through, I wanted to remind everyone to:

[Always Wear Your Invisible Crown]. Hold your heads high and keep pushing through midterm week month. Thanksgiving break is right around the corner! Believe me, I am counting down the days. I hope this brightens your week! Happy Tuesday!

Go Vote.

Happy Election Day everyone! I hope all of you will be voting today. Democracy is what our country is all about, and it is our job to make our ancestors proud by exercising this right that they fought so hard to achieve. I voted for the first time on Saturday (early voting), and it was quite the honor to be able to participate in such an important election. Remember, vote for the person who you think will do the best for our country. Happy voting!
