Stylitics, a virtual closet website that happens to be extremely addicting, released three trends that will no longer be stylish in 2013 on their blog the other day--neon, tangerine, and arm parties. Needless to say I am lamenting, mostly for the arm party trend. I still like touches of neon in accessories, but when it comes to full outfits I think pastel colors are taking over, which I'm all for.

As for tangerine, as much as I love the color (and will probably still wear it occasionally in the summer), the trend has been around for a while now, and I think it's time for an update. Pantone just released their new color of the year, emerald, which I'm very excited about. The dark green hue is rich and versatile, not to mention it looks good on everyone.

Unfortunately, arm parties are declining, as well. While personally I love the trend of wearing stacks of bracelets on my wrists, according to Stylitics, "it’s time to make like Coco Chanel and take off at least one piece of jewelry before you leave the house." I guess now I'll have to stick to one statement piece or a few thinner bracelets. Or perhaps I'll just break the rules all together and do it anyway (more likely).

Neon, tangerine, and arm parties all had great runs, but it's time to say goodbye. Although I'm still mourning these three trends (arm party, I still love you), I'm ready to try pastels, emerald, and single bracelets. What do you think? Any thoughts?
