Pip Pip Cheerio!

This past weekend my family threw me a going away party as I'm leaving for London this Saturday to study abroad for the semester! I had so much fun hanging out with family and friends before leaving. My mum and I had a fun time with the British red, white and blue theme, too. Here are some photos from the party:
As you can see, we went all out with the British theme. My mum really misses planning my themed birthday parties when I was younger, apparently, but I'll admit I still love it. We had a red, white and blue candy bar with Swedish Fish, sour gummy worms, Peppermint Patty Pieces, and jelly beans and rocky candy from We found the perfect British napkins from Party City surprisingly enough. They had them because of the royal baby--lucky for us! We also ordered these adorable British mini cupcakes from Sugar Bake Shoppe in the center of my town. We got three flavors--chocolate stout with Bailey's frosting, chocolate with vanilla frosting and mocha--and they were all delicious. Anyone in the greater Boston area should definitely look into their cakes and pastries. They have a great variety of flavors and handle food allergies well. They also have yummy sandwiches!

Other than sweets, my dad cooked up some teriyaki chicken on the grille served with an assortment of salads. Everything was so good! A huge thanks to my parents for putting this all together, especially my mum. Hopefully this will give all of you reading some inspiration for a study abroad-themed going away party!

  1. That must be a very emotional moment for you. When I went to abroad for my job my parents gave me a big farewell party in venues in San Diego. That moment is really special for me. I will never forget that in my whole life.

  2. The manager was excellent and was able to help us enormously in structuring the flow/feel of the wedding. He and his staff did an excellent job and exceeded our expectations.
