Black & Ivory, Featuring Boden

Boden Black and Ivory Jacquard Skirt (℅) | Black Long-sleeve Tee (similar) | Naturalizer Heels (similar)

Remember the Boden fashion show I attended a few months ago? Well, I've finally styled a couple of pieces after the show for fall (look out for a Ponte Roma pant outfit post soon!). This brand is chock full of vibrant and colorful pieces with unique patterns. Of course, I played it safe with the black and ivory Jacquard skirt. I have to say, this skirt is very comfortable in terms of the just above-the-knee length and soft jersey fabric, plus it's perfectly appropriate as workwear. Another bonus of this Boden skirt is that it has pockets!

When styling this skirt, keep the look simple on top with solid, neutral colors. This piece is a statement on its own with its geometric pattern, which can feel busy with other bright colors and patterns. Since this skirt is a bit on the longer side (almost at "midi" length), a good pair of heels are a must.

If you haven't checked out Boden after my last fashion show recap, shop the brand online! Right now they are holding a mid-season sale with items upwards of 40% off, so if you're looking to update your fall work wardrobe, definitely take a look.

What do you think of this Boden Jacquard skirt? Would you sport this in the office?

Charles River Apparel: Yellow New Englander Rain Jacket

Charles River Apparel New Englander Rain Jacket (℅) | Lucky Brand Boots (old)

This week has been a complete wash-out (typical New England), but lucky for me, I've finally gotten a chance to wear my Charles River Apparel New Englander rain jacket. Even though I'm not a fan of trekking to class in wind and rain, I can't help but feel excited to wear this coat. I'm not sure if it's the cheerful, buttercup yellow hue or the cozy, fleece-lined pockets that make me (somewhat) happy about New England weather…either way, it's helping me survive rainy days.

To purchase your own monogrammed Charles River Apparel rain jacket, check out Marley Lilly or Etsy. These are Charles River Apparel's biggest monogram vendors to buy from since it only sells its products in bulk to companies rather than personal orders. These coats have been all the rage on Pinterest and make for great gifts with a personal touch. I ordered the Heathered Fleece in oatmeal, as well, with a monogram on the sleeve. Look out for photos of this jacket, too!

Happy Friday!
